A self-directed project exploring the Asian American experience through the rise of the pandemic.

Perpetual Foreigner, 2020
Perpetual Foreigner is inspired by the Academy Award-winning South Korean film Parasite. Playing off the themes of the film, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the associated rise in hate crimes against Asian Americans, Perpetual Foreigner creates meaning from signifiers arranged throughout the poster that reference historical events, such as:
1882, Chinese Exclusion Act
1917, Barred Zone Act
1942, E.O. 9066
2020, COVID-19, AKA Trump's "Chinese Virus"
